The Achievement & Assessment Institute (AAI) at the University of Kansas is looking for a Graphic Designer who will create high-quality visuals for assessments and multimedia projects. Perfect for a professional with a knack for Adobe Illustrator and an enthusiasm for designing engaging digital content, this position is most suited for creative-minded individuals.
You will work with senior designers and cross-functional teams to produce graphics that will augment educational assessments. Fast-paced environments in which detail is of the utmost importance are where you will thrive-with an equally keen eye for design.
Responsibilities
🎨 Graphic Design & Illustration (85%)
Creating digital graphics and edits for web-based assessments, animations, and tutorials.
Production of simple, attractive vector graphics.
📌 Other Duties (15%)
Attend Team meetings and project updates.
Involve in additional center work as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience using Adobe Illustrator for graphic design.
Knowledge of basic Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong aesthetic understanding of layout, typography, contrast, and balance in any one design.
Ability to create simplified vector graphics.
Willingness to accept feedback and adjust designs accordingly.
Good communication, written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with graphic design.
Experience in creating SVG graphics and preparing graphics for animations.
Exposure to Adobe Photoshop and MacOS.
Experience maintaining a well-organized graphics library.
Work Setup & Eligibility Hybrid: At least 2 days per week in Lawrence, KS office Flexible schedule-time within Monday through Thursday, 8 AM – 5 PM. KU cannot employ remote employees in California or Delaware.
